Network Connection Lost, Data Encryption

Problem

User receives “A connection to the network database has been lost. Encryption is not support” or something to that effect.

Solution

Before correcting the issue, make sure the edge cd is on their computer. Also, shutdown the edge.

1. Go to Add/Remove programs
2. Uninstall the Microsoft SQL Server Native Client
3. Go to the edge cd then go to the following path on the cd \SQLEXPRESS\Win32\Setup
4. Run the install file : sqlncli.msi
5. Once complete, run the edge.
